Sewage Tanker Rolls Down Embankment

A tanker accident sends one person to the hospital Thursday evening. It happened just before 5:00pm off of Exit 4 on I-68.

Officers say a tanker truck carrying sewage was heading off the exit at into Sabraton traveling at a high rate of speed.

The driver Van Croft lost control, hit a car, went through the guardrail and down an embankment, spilling the sewage.

Croft was ejected from the tanker as it rolled down the hill. He suffered severe head injuries and was flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital. The driver of the car, Stacy Davis of Wheeling, suffered minor injuries.

The Morgantown Police Department is investigating the accident.
