A brand new health clinic opens its doors in Braxton County to serve veterans across the area.

The brand new Department of Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinic is the only Veteran clinic in the center of the state. The facility has been in the works now for over a year. Clinic officials say the location for the center is prime. Before veterans in central West Virginia had to go to either Beckely or Clarksburg for medical care. Now this location can improve access to healthcare to veterans living in the area.

So far 27% more veterans have been served in the past eight months and with the largest per capita of veterans living in the area than any other state, these numbers will be on the rise.

Senator Jay Rockefeller was also at the ribbon cutting ceremony and says this is a marvelous thing to happen for veterans; and the country will continue to fight for long term health care for Veterans.
