Flames rip through a Barbour County home early this morning. It happened just before five on Route 76 near Galloway.

No one lives at the home, and fire fighters were checking to see if utilities to the house were disconnected.   Crews from Flemington and Philippi snuffed out the flames.

Authorities say the home suffered "extensive damage."

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
