Volunteer firefighters were honored Sunday evening at the kickoff to the 67th annual Preston County Buckwheat Festival.

This is the third year that the Kingwood Volunteer Fire Department has been honored. All of the firetrucks and equipment are paid for by fund-raising and the biggest of those is the Buckwheat Festival. Preston County says they are thankful for the 22 men who are on-call 365 days a year for no pay.

The Buckwheat Festival will last until Sunday.
