The search for human remains is over at the Montana Mine site in Marion County.

Fairmont police say they are confident there is no dead body at the site. They do however say that some "items of interest" were found and will be sent to the state police crime lab for processing to determine what, if any, cases they tie into.

Crews began combing the area last Tuesday when an anonymous tip was received that there were human remains on the one-acre piece of land. Fairmont police say they are confident that the tip was from a credible source.

Police will not elaborate on what items were found and had no comment on speculation that they were searching for the remains of Faith Ann Willis, a Barrackville woman who disappeared in August of 2005. Family and friends of the woman have been gathered at the site for the past week.

Police also wish to thank those who have helped out the last six days.

If you have any information about this case or any other case call the Fairmont Detective Division at 304-366-2217.
