An afternoon fire rips through a home in Taylor County.

The fire broke out around 1:15 this afternoon at a home on Baptist Hill in Flemington. By the time crews got on scene around 1:30, the house was already a total loss. Firefighters say they believe the fire started around the dryer of the two-story home. Crews say the metal roof held in the heat and flames, which helped to spread the heat quickly. The homeowner was home at the time but was able to get out safely. Flemington, Grafton, Bridgeport, and Anmoore fire departments all responded.
