The water project between the City of Salem and the Sun Valley PSD is getting closer to a signed agreement.

Governor Joe Manchin sent Chris Jarrett, Executive Director of the West Virginia Water Development Authority to help these two agencies come to agreement and it seems like everyone is on the same page, except for Salem residents.

Jarrett headed up the meeting that was full of PSC members, DHHR officials, attorneys, County Commissioners and City Council members.

The engineers from both parties want to move forward when it comes to working with the Clarksburg Water Board.

If they sign Clarksburg will sell to Salem and their water will run through Sun Valley's lines, but Salem residents say they want their own water plant.
Salem City Manager Dave Mayle says building their own water plant is pretty much impossible when it comes to funding.

Decisions could be made at their meetings next week.
