Students at one local high school make a shocking discovery Wednesday morning, placing the school on lock-down.

Wednesday morning students at Buckhannon-Upshur High School found live bullet's laying on the ground in the commons area.

The students brought the 22-caliber bullets to the principals office, and the building was immediately put on lock-down.

Members of the Board of Education, Sheriff's Department and the State Police then did a complete search of the campus, visiting every classroom looking for any other situation that may arise.

Police and board members are unsure of where the bullets came from, and determined it was a random act. The school was on lock-down for about an hour and a half and continued on a normal schedule.

Superintendent of Upshur County Schools, Scott Lampinen, says they put the school on lock-down to ensure the safety of students.

School officials ensure no one was hurt and the investigation is on-going.
