Testimony has wrapped up in the Lincoln Taylor murder trial.

On Thursday morning, Taylor took the witness stand in his own defense to try to and prove his innocence.

Taylor testified that he was not the one who shot and killed Derrick Osborne. By law, Taylor was not required to testify and he said he understood what he was doing was voluntary. He also says that he had been waiting for 17 months to tell his side of the story and that he is not a murderer.

Closing arguments began just before 1:30 Thursday afternoon and lasted over three hours.

The jury was sent home just before 5 o'clock and will begin deliberations first thing Friday morning.
