One man is dead and another is behind bars after a late night car accident in Preston County.

Preston County Sheriff's Deputies say 48-year-old Timothy Williams from Ohio was traveling south on Route 72 when he lost control of his car around a turn. The car then ran off the edge of the road and hit several trees and ended up over an embankment.

Five people were in the car at the time of the crash including 70-year old Ronald Andrew Wiles from Terra Alta who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other patients were transported to local hospitals.

Williams was later arrested and charged with DUI with felony death as a result of the accident. The Preston County Sheriff's Department is investigating.
