For some folks good credit seems out of reach, but Consumer Credit Counseling Service in Clarksburg can show you how to get it.

The first thing people can do is take advantage of credit counselors and get on a budget.

Consumer Credit Counseling Service, Program Manager, Amie Darway says, if you already have bad credit don't avoid creditors, work with them.

Darway says, you can improve credit by making payments on time and letting creditors know when a payment will be late.

And for teenagers, Darway says, to gain credit open a checking or savings account and use your debit card. She says, teens should try to manage their accounts on their own to gain responsibility.

Consumer Credit Counseling Service offers a 12 chapter education course called, "Credit When Credit is Due," which can improve your credit report.

For more information on signing up call Amie Darway at 304-623-0921.
