WDTV News

Late Tuesday night several crews were on scene of a fire on Route 73.

Officials say a structural barn that's a part of Freed's Greenhouse went up in flames around 10:00pm. Firefighters from Bridgeport, Boothsville, Shinnston and Anmoore all responded to the scene.

Emergency crews say they got the flames under control about 11:00pm. Crews stayed on scene for several hours to make sure the fire didn't spread to other buildings on the property.

Bridgeport Fire Chief Chuck Feathers says the State Fire Marshal's Office has been called in to investigate the cause of the fire. Chief Feathers says they want to take a close look at the debris because the fire burned so rapidly and the fact that another building in the area caught fire just weeks ago.
