500 dogs enjoyed the friendly waters at Marilla Pool during the 2007 "Splash Bash" in Morgantown, Sunday.

Proceeds from the bash help the no-kill shelter for Animal Friends of North Central WV. Since 2001, the non-profit group has rescued and aided in the adoption of 600 dogs a year in Monongalia County and several surrounding counties.

Activities held at "Splash Bash" included: a dog diving competition, limbo competition, swim race, best dressed pet, and best owner-dog look-alike contest.

Executive director and founder of Animal Friends, Cynthis Lucas says the event is different from just walking a dog because it is something dog and pet owner can enjoy together.

Animal Friends hosts several fundraisers at Marilla Park during the year, including the Dog Walk and Easter Egg Fetch.
