Convicted murderer Michelle Michael has been sentenced to life in prison plus twenty years.

That's the maximum possible sentence for her crimes.

She'll serve life in prison for first degree murder and twenty years for first degree arson, consecutively.

A Kanawha County jury found Michael guilty of those crimes back in July. She drugged her husband James with a paralysis-inducing drug and burnt down their Suncrest home to cover up the crime.

With the jury's recommendation of mercy, she could have been eligible for parole in 15 years. However, since she was handed down the maximum sentence for arson and it runs consecutively with the murder conviction, it will be 35 years before she'll be eligible for parole.
