10 in 10 Week #9: Holiday Tips

We're finishing up the second to last week for all of you out there who are trying to lose ten pounds in ten weeks. For some of you this program has helped keep you going, but now that it's coming to end are you going to stick with it?

85% of the class has hit their goal and 5% have gone over. If you stick with this, you can really be looked at as a leader in the community and could impact others to make a healthy change.

Experts say it's easier to keep going with a few bumps in the road then to give up completely. For instance, you can have a cheat day, but not a cheat week. This program is ending right when the holiday season is coming into full swing with Thanksgiving and Christmas, but here are some helpful tips on how you can still have fun at those holiday parties.

"One of the major things is when you go to a party, don't go to the party hungry and when you get to that party, don't sit at the table or stand at the table socializing where all the buffet food is. Sampling is important. You can have those sweets, but don't make a meal out of those sweets. Don't make a meal out of those chips and dip. Have a variety," said Toni 

Another great tip is to use small plates instead of what we call normal size plates. You fit less food on it, so you eat less. Williams said square plates have the same effect.
