They say "the early bird catches the worm," and that was the case for the runners at the Cecil Jarvis Clarksburg 10K.
More than 1,000 people got a very early kick start to their weekend during Saturday's special event. While some races give to big charities, this one benefits track and field programs at high schools around our area, and has another benefit just for you: getting in shape!
"It brings the community together from around the state, and it's a good family activity to get you healthy," said Larry Mazza, Co-Chair of the Cecil Jarvis 10K.
While most participants were from the Mountain State, 5 News talked to some people Saturday who came to run as far away as Oklahoma and Texas.
"I just want to come out and support the local economy and run," said Tanner Hagerman, Texas resident.
Besides the 10K, the race also featured a smaller two mile run, and a kiddie run as well.
