The Supreme Court ruled on Thursday to uphold the critical piece of President Obama's Affordable Care Act, the individual mandate.
By upholding the individual mandate, the requirement for all Americans to acquire health insurance, the court kept what many described as the "heart" of the law. The decision creates some certainty surrounding federal health care policy, allowing federal and state rulemakers to, for now, implement the law.
We reached out to our viewers on Facebook to see what they had to say about this ruling and have posted some of the comments below.
Heidi S. "Nothing is permanent... Everything changes..."
Juli J. "GOD help our country and God's people ~ Enough said."
Emily D. "I will pay the penalty because it would be cheaper to pay that then pay the deductible on a family plan at my husbands work! "
Mark B. "A good step in the right direction."
Brian G. "Another major victory for the insurance oligarchy ...."
Jennice W. "Very unfair. I guess we will pay the fine. My husband retired and disable . The pension he gets will ( only pay for the insurance. The money we get on ssi will not pay all thr bills. They say we make to much for medicaid and it takes two years for medicare. years for his med"
Kristle L. "WRONG!!!"
Joyce K. "its very unfair, my adults kids cant find work , i took ill last year but iam on my husband thank god but theres so many out there that cant afford it ."
George D. "I still believe that it is unconstitutional. Nobama said "no new taxes" but as usual he lied and now we have to pay for it."
Carolyn G. "What's next? Mandatory haircuts? Why not...every American deserves a haircut even if they can't afford it, right? Maybe Obama will pass a law that states every American should have their haircut at least once every 30 days or have to pay a hefty tax. Sounds a little ridiculous, huh?!?"
Linda B. "I am not surprised. obama is a hitler clone, and don't freak, I don't mean concentration camps Aryan nation yet. I mean the way obama has slowly taken over significant portions of this country, his manipulations, threats, breaking down of the constitution, limiting rights while americans think they are 'getting' more. He has already taken away freedom of speech (picketing lines as a felony when he decides they are a problem), food control (already begun taking funds from farmers, states deciding what we can eat), energy control (destroying coal, investing billions in solar with no returns), denying oil production and on and on. Now of course he controls your medical care."
Christina S. "YAY! I can finally get insurance! I have pre-existing conditions. Thank god."
Danny C. "I guess I will be in jail! Can't afford to pay the premiums or the TAX! And what about the homeless?"
Bonnie L. " I think it is stupid, it should be your choice if you have insurance or not. The working people can't afford it the only ones that can are the ones on welfare."
Sammy B. "Forced health insurance is wrong. I believe there should be some changes where it is cheaper and easier to get, but to tax/ punish people because they do not have it is not right at all."
Kristy P. "I admit I don't know enough specifics about it. How is it determined whether people can afford to pay for insurance? Are there income guidelines and/or caps on premiums? Anyone have any idea where I can find out the details? I need something laid out in black and white before I can give a REAL opinion."
Melissa H. "People need to make phone calls to make a difference. If this makes life hard for you or a loved one - speak out by calling the state's representatives."
Patrick P. "I want the same health insurance coverage that our govt receives."

This article states that we can also share our opinions of this ruling with you in the comments section below. Uh, I beg to differ as I have done so twice. This makes three times and you refuse to allow a differing opinion obviously. What gives? No freedom of speech allowed?
