5 NEWS UPDATE: No Explosives Found at SIU

UPDATE: Tuesday,  March 19, 1:24 p.m.
 
Authorities did not find any explosives. They believe it was a hoax device.
 
Bomb squad is leaving the campus.
 
UPDATE: Tuesday, March 19, 12:42 p.m. 
 
The bomb squad is still on scene at Salem International University trying to figure out what is in the suspect's car.
 
The Salem Police Department, who is being assisted by the West Virginia State Police and the Harrison County Sheriff's Department, has released more information about the incident.
 
Around 10:30 a.m., the male suspect, who is a student, walked into an English class. He said something, but they're not releasing what he said at this time.
 
At that point, the students and professor were evacuated from the classroom and authorities were notified.
 
The suspect's name and age haven't been released. He was taken in for questioning.

The suspect has been caught. A device that could be a bomb is in the suspect's car. A bomb squad is investigating it. Stay with 5 News for further updates.

The Harrison County Prosecuting Attorney has confirmed to 5 News that 911 has received a call of a man inside a Salem International University classroom with a black that he is claiming is a bomb.
 
State Police and the Sheriff's Department will be sweeping the school.
