UPDATE: Friday, March 8
A resident in the apartment complex told firefighters he was cooking in his kitchen when he turned around and saw the flames.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire to that apartment although smoke and water damage did spread throughout the building.
The Weston Fire Department said 14 people were forced to find somewhere else to sleep Thursday night, after fire damaged the apartment complex.
The blaze started in a kitchen inside an upstairs apartment. When crews got there they saw flames coming out of the side of the building with heavy smoke. That apartment has been ruled a total loss.
As for the other nine apartments, they suffered water and smoke damage. There's no estimation on costs to repair or when those tenants will be able to go back.
Fire crews battled a fire at an apartment complex in Weston on Thursday.

Around 4:00 p.m., the firefighters were called to the building on Broad Street.
We have a reporter on scene. Stay tuned to 5 News for more updates.
