5 NEWS UPDATE: Calhoun Co. Man Dies in 4 Car, Ritchie Co. Crash

UPDATE: Monday, Dec. 3, 6 p.m.
A Calhoun County man died after a four car crash in Ritchie County Monday morning.

Troopers said 39-year-old Jonathan D. Newell, of Big Bend, died as a result of the collision near the intersection of Route 50 and Route 74.
They're not exactly sure what happened so they've called in a reconstructionist to look at the scene.

A four car accident that shut down part of Route 50 is under investigation.
It happened sometime around 7:00 Monday morning on Route 50 near County Route 74 in Ritchie County. 
According to the West Virginia Department of Transportation, the accident shut down the west bound lanes of Route 50 for about an hour. 
911 officials told 5 News that HealthNet was called to the scene, but we haven't confirmed if there were any injuries. State Police are investigating. Be sure to stay with 5 News for any further updates.
