The man who flipped his car Thursday on I-79 has been identified as 40-year-old Michael Stroupe. He's in fair condition at Ruby Memorial Hospital. Deputies told 5 News that speed was definitely a factor.
The name and condition of a man who had to be flown to the hospital after he flipped his car several times on I-79 is still unknown.
The accident happened around 11:30 Thursday morning near the Lost Creek exit. According to police, the man was heading south when he veered left. He tried to re-gain control and veered all the way to right side of the road. He ended up hitting an embankment and the car flipped over several times. Crews had to cut him out and he was flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital.
