Update 10/23:

An accident in Taylor County sent five people to the hospital over the weekend.

Deputies told us Brittany Sprunger was driving on Route 50 Saturday with two passengers. She apparently lost control, which flipped the car twice, before colliding into another car head-on. Sarah Thumm was the driver of that car, which had one passenger.

Four of those people have been released from the hospital, and the last one is expected to be released tomorrow.

Deputies said charges on Sprunger are pending.

Original Story 10/20:

A head-on collision in Taylor County sent a total of five people to the hospital, after one of the cars involved in the crash caught on fire.

It happened just after 4:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon on Route 50 near Meadland Road. Deputies said one car with two people traveling west bound, crossed the center line and hit another car with three people in it head on.

The first car caught on fire about 10 minutes after the crash, but everyone was out of both cars by then.

Two people were flowing to Ruby Memorial Hospital and three others were taken to UHC. The Taylor County Sheriff's Department is handling the investigation.
