5 NEWS UPDATE: EMT Dies After Early Morning Accident

An EMT has died after an accident in Lewis County Tuesday morning.
Mark Anthony Kinder, a 26-year old JanCare EMT, died after the ambulance he was riding in was involved in a crash.
It happened on Interstate 79 South, near mile marker 97. Sheriff's deputies told 5 News a tractor trailer and ambulance collided around 5:00.
The paramedic who was driving the ambulance was treated for injuries and released.  Kinder was taken to Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital where he later died. There were no patients in the ambulance at the time of the accident.
Both southbound lanes of the interstate were shut down for several hours.
