5 News Update:

Shinnston's fire chief said the flames started in a back spare bedroom area, possibly close to electric panels on the wall.

The two people who were home at the time called 911 and were outside when crews arrived. Their dog made it out safely as well.

The state fire marshal's office will be called in to investigate the cause of the blaze.

Original Story:

Firefighters weren't able to save a house from flames in Harrison County Monday night.

It started around 8:00 p.m. on Rockwell Lane in Enterprise. Neighbors say they saw flames shooting into the air when it first broke out. Crews as far away as Bridgeport went to help fight the blaze.

The house sits on a narrow road which made it difficult for crews to get back and forth to the scene after loading back up with water from a nearby fire hydrant.

A man told 5 News he lived in the house and that no one was hurt.

No word yet from authorities on what could have started the blaze.
