5 NEWS UPDATE: Man Arrested In Taylor Co. Baby's Death

5 NEWS UPDATE (10/21):

Police in Taylor County have arrested a Marion County man they think had something to do with the death of a child. 
Marcus Curtis Lewis has been arrested. Sheriff's deputies out of Taylor County said the 2-month-old child was transported from a home in Boothsville to United Hospital Center last Sunday, and passed away. 
In the criminal complaint released Monday investigators say Lewis was putting together a baby bed while watching the infant and a 3-year-old little girl when he claims the 3-year-old jumped on the baby. However an autopsy revealed the infant died from hematoma's on the brain which investigators believe is a result of being shaken.  
Lewis is charged with death of a child. 


Police have arrested a man after investigating the death of a baby in Taylor County.

The infant was transported from a home in the Boothsville area of Taylor County to United Hospital Center on Sunday, October 13th, police said. The baby died in the hospital.

Officers worked on the case all week and then issued a warrant on Marcus Curtis Lewis. Lewis was arrested Friday night, charged with the death of a child. He will be transported to the North Central Regional Jail.

The Taylor, Harrison and Marion County Sheriff's Departments all contributed to this investigation.
