5 NEWS UPDATE: Memorial In Place For Pedestrian Killed After Being Hit By Vehicle

5 NEWS UPDATE (8/21):

A memorial has been setup for James McClain at the intersection of South High Street and Simpson Street.

The memorial comes with flowers and candles.

ORIGINAL STORY (8/20):

Police have released the name of the man who was killed when a car hit him in Morgantown Monday night.

Police say James Robert McClain, 79, of Morgantown, was crossing South High Street, near the Simpson Street intersection, at around 8:45 p.m. A vehicle going north apparently hit McClain.

McClain died as a result of the injuries sustained in the accident. 

The name of the driver has not yet been released. No word on if any charges will be filed.

This incident is still under investigation by Detectives and Traffic Reconstruction Officers of the Morgantown Police Department.  If anyone has any information concerning it they should contact the Morgantown Police Department at (304) 284-7522.
