5 NEWS UPDATE: Name Released of Man Found in Stonewood

Update (1/23/2014):

The Harrison County Sheriff released the name of the man found unconscious in Stonewood last weekend. 54-year-old Timothy Lee Skidmore of Nutter Fort was found near a home in Stonewood. He was taken to the hospital, but later died. Deputies say the cause was most likely hypothermia.


Deputies confirmed to 5 News that the man who was found in Stonewood over the weekend has died. Deputies said that there isn't any evidence of foul play at this time and that hypothermia could be a factor in his death. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.

Original (1/18/2014):

5 News got some calls that there was a rumor that a badly beaten body was found in a garbage bag on Saturday in Stonewood, but officials with the Harrison County Sheriff's Department said those reports are false.

They did confirm that a 55-year-old man was found, and was taken to Ruby Memorial with life threatening injuries.

Officials think this was accidental, and they don't suspect any suspicious activity. Stay with 5 News for the latest.
