5 NEWS UPDATE:
 
The homeowner and their three dogs made it out of the house safely, which has been ruled a total loss. The fire started around 4:45 p.m. Wednesday. It was listed under control almost an hour later.
 
Crews tell us it sparked in the laundry room and moved up into the attic.
 
The Red Cross has been called in to help the owner. Damages are estimated at around $75,000.
 
ORIGINAL STORY:
 
We're hearing reports of a house fire on Parkside Drive in Pleasant Valley.  The home is close to I-79, off of the Gateway Connector.
 
Fire crews are staging on Pleasant Valley Road.
 
We have a reporter on their way and will provide more information as soon as it's available.
