He's been taken to the Tygart Valley Regional Jail.
Police in Randolph County are searching for a man who apparently escaped from circuit court Thursday morning.
35 year-old Derrick Armstrong of Elkins was in court to be sentenced for two counts of domestic battery. When he failed a drug test, the judge ordered him to jail.
Once he was in the jail's custody, he asked to use the restroom, and that's when he escaped.
Armstrong's described as about 5'10", 170 lbs, with short red-brown hair. He was last seen wearing tan cargo pants and a checkered shirt.
If you have any information, call the Randolph County Sheriff's Department at (304)-636-2111 or your local law enforcement agency.
