5 NEWS UPDATE: Stabbing Victim Allegedly Alright

Update (11/21):

Jacklyn O'Dell was originally taken to United Hospital Center, but was transported to another hospital. 5 News check Ruby, but she is not listed as a patient there. Sheriff Albert Marano said she's okay.


Update 11/20 (6:00 p.m.):

Christopher Kerns, 35, allegedly stabbed Jacklyn O'Dell twice in the back. O'Dell was taken to United Hospital Center by ambulance.

Deputies say this was a domestic related incident.

Kerns is charged with malicious wounding.

Update (11/20 11 a.m.):

A suspect has been caught on Lodgeville Road in Bridgeport. The Harrison County Sheriff's Department put out an alert to look for the suspect. A Bridgeport Police Officer was driving on Lodgeville Road when he saw the man walking and made the arrest.

No names have been released at this time. Stay with 5 News for updates.

Original (11/20 10 a.m.):

Deputies say there was a stabbing in Harrison County Wednesday morning.

The stabbing happened just before 9 o'clock off of Simpson Street in Summit Park.

Nearby workers told 5 News that a woman was taken to the hospital by ambulance and a man fled the scene on foot. There's no word on the woman's condition.

There is no suspect in custody at this time.

The Harrison County Sheriff's Department is investigating.
