The State Fire Marshal's Office was on scene Tuesday to find out what caused the blaze at the old Wyatt School Monday morning.
An overnight fire ended up destroying an old school building in Harrison County early Monday morning. Now an investigation is underway to find out what sparked the blaze.
Crews from several different areas were called to the old Wyatt School on Joetown Road, near Shinnston, at around 1:30 a.m. Flames had overtaken the building by the time crews got on scene.
There was no power hooked up to the building, and it was abandoned, so there's no word on what started the fire. The Shinnston Fire Department is in charge of the investigation. They said they may call in the Fire Marshal's office.
Nobody was hurt.
