State Police confirmed to 5 News that a teenage boy has died, after a "physical altercation" involving another teenage boy Friday evening.
Police said the fight happened around 7:10 p.m. in front of the George Ward Elementary School in Mill Creek.
The suspect is currently in a juvenile detention facility.
5 News talked to both State Police and Davis Memorial Hospital officials, but neither would release the names of either juvenile at this time. However, other media outlets are reporting the victim was 17-year-old Dustin White.
Original Story 10/26:
A Tygarts Valley High School student was reportedly stabbed several times before Friday's football game against Hundred.
Witnesses told our reporter, who was there to cover the game, two students got into it about 20 minutes before kickoff in a parking lot next to the field. Those witnesses say the victim was stabbed at least four times in the chest.
Students say the suspect quit the Tygarts Valley football team a few weeks ago.
In a matter of minutes the victim was taken by ambulance to Davis Memorial Hospital where a helicopter landed and flew him to another hospital. It's possible his injuries are life threatening. The stadium was on lockdown and kickoff was delayed while troopers looked for the suspect.
A suspect is in custody and we have learned he's a minor. Witnesses say the victim and the suspect had a fight on Friday in school.
Reports indicate that the teen involved in the stabbing died at the hospital. This is all unconfirmed with authorities right now. Stay with 5 News for updates.
