Harrison County Sheriff Albert Marano said 19-year-old Dalton Tenney and 17-year old Kaitlyn Hamilton both died from the early morning crash on Saturday.
Tenney died on scene and Hamilton died at Ruby Memorial Hospital.
It happened around 4:00 a.m. around mile marker 128. Police said a 19-year-old man was driving north with a 17-year-old girl in the passenger seat. The car somehow ran off the road, hit the median and then the guard rail. Both teens were ejected from the car.
Deputies believe Tenney somehow lost control before striking the guardrail on I-79 which may have caused the car to flip several times. Speed may have been a factor.
