5 NEWS UPDATE: Troopers Release Names of Upshur Accident Victim, Suspect

UPDATE 10:30 PM 10/6/13:

Troopers released the name of the woman who was killed Saturday night after a car accident in Upshur County.

They said 27-year-old Nicole Currence died after 33-year-old Ronnie Landis supposedly lost control of his car on Old Elkins Road.

Landis was arrested for DUI causing death. Troopers said his blood alcohol content was .127.

They said more charges could be filed against him.

ORIGINAL STORY 4:30 PM 10/6/13:

A woman was killed and a man is behind bars after an accident Saturday night in Upshur County.

Troopers said Ronnie Landis apparently lost control of his car, slid sideways, and hit a tree just after 8:00 p.m. on Old Elkins Road in Ellamore.

His passenger was killed, and troopers haven't released her name yet. Landis refused treatment.

State police arrested Landis on DUI causing death charges, and said more charges could be filed.
