UPDATE 9:55 AM 10/28/13:

Fire officials said that the two people who were killed in a fire on Monday morning were children. They said one of the victims was 2-years-old, but couldn't say if it was a boy or a girl. They weren't releasing the age of the other victim.

Two other children and three adults were taken to Davis Memorial Hospital and then flown to West Penn Burn Center in Pittsburgh.

Elkins Fire Chief, Tom Meader, said there were no working smoke detectors in the home. The home was badly damaged in that fire.

ORIGINAL STORY 5:30 AM 10/28/13:

Two people are confirmed dead after a fire broke out at a home in Randolph County early Monday morning. Crews got to the scene on Central Street, near Davis Memorial Hospital, around 4:30 a.m., after a neighbor saw flames and called 911.

The neighbor who made that 911 call, Randy England, told 5 News, "I just heard this loud noise. I came out on the front porch and that's when I saw the flames, so I grabbed ahold of my phone and called 911 and I came running up through here, and the whole front of the house, the porch and everything, was just engulfed in flames."

Elkins Fire Chief, Tom Meader, said there were seven people inside the home at the time, three adults and four children. Two people died inside from smoke inhalation, while several others were flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital by HeathNet. There's no word on their conditions at this time.

The State Fire Marshal was on scene, investigating the cause of the fire.
