5 NEWS UPDATE: Woman Killed In Monday Morning Accident Identified

5 News Update (3/5):
 
Police have identified as the woman killed as 38-year-old Barbara Sperandio of Wana, West Virginia.
 
Update 6:00 p.m. :
 
Investigators said a 38-year-old woman crossed the center line and hit the other car head on.
 
The woman driving that other car was taken to the hospital, but apparently wasn't hurt that bad.
 
Officials haven't released the name of the woman who died. They've just said that she's from Core, West Virginia.
 
 
Original Story:
 
One person has died after an accident on Mason Dixon Highway Monday morning.
 
Crews were called to the scene of the accident, near Core, at around 7:00 a.m. A car was apparently heading westbound, when it crossed the center line and crashed into another car head-on.
 
One person was pronounced dead on the scene. Another person was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
 
The area was shut down for hours Monday morning.
 
The Monongalia County Sheriff's Department is handling the investigation.

Today I lost one of my best and only friends. We were cousins, but grew up close as sisters. I'll never forget the times we shared. I love you girl.. and I'm gonna miss you.
