On part two in our Health Alerts series 5 News Fights Obesity, we learned about a healthy diet. Last week we went over the importance of exercise, but exercise alone won't help you get to a healthy weight. A proper diet is just as important.
Dietitian Becky Foster from United Hospital Center joined us to discuss:
How do you know if you have a healthy diet?
What is the first thing someone should do when deciding to improve their health by losing weight?
Portion control is a huge part to diet, and it's something most people don't get right. What are the recommended guidelines?
Why is it so hard for people to stick to a diet?
What advice do you have for parents who are trying to teach their kids healthy eating habits?
If you missed the segment last week on exercising, watch it online HERE
Next week, we'll talk to local experts about how to manage your weight with diabetes, as well as preventing the disease.
