Almost 200 people were at the Bridgeport Conference Center Friday for an educational seminar. More specifically, to focus on the issues seniors face with financial exploitation.

Recently there have been a lot of scams out there and the main target has been seniors. This program was to educate the elderly in the community so they don't get stuck in a bad spot. Or if they do, they'll know how to handle it. Speaker of the House Tim Miley was there Friday. He told 5 News there have been laws passed by legislation to help with this problem, but he hopes to do more.

"We want to do all we can to prevent that from happening and an informed senior citizen is a well protected senior citizen. If we can pass good policy that protects our seniors from being exploited financially then I certainly want to do that and I think most other delegates and senators want to do that as well," Delegate Tim Miley, Speaker of the House.
