An active duty military member was arrested Sunday evening, over accusations that he's been sexually abusing a 14 year old girl over the last 10 years.

Police told 5 News that Bruce Hayhurst sexually assaulted the girl since she was four years old. The crimes apparently happened at Camp Dawson in Preston County where Hayhurst works and at his home in Nicholas County.

Hayhurst is now facing 25 sex-related charges between the two counties. In Preston County, he's charged with five counts of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian or custodian and five counts of first degree sexual assault. In Nicholas County, he's charged with five counts of first degree sexual assault, five counts of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian or custodian, and five counts of incest.

If you suspect a child is being abused, call Sgt. Adam Scott with the State Police Crimes Against Children Unit at (304) 367-2701.
