The weather out there is frightful, which means there are plenty of cats and dogs that need a good home.
For Valentine's Day, why not give your loved one the gift of a little furry one?
Shelters are always looking for people who are willing to adopt. For many of these pets, they need a loving home. If you're worried about cost, you can usually find ways to get reimbursed for their spay or neuter costs.
If you're single this Valentine's Day, and want some companionship, adopting is a great way to go.
"It gives these animals that have been abandoned or whatever their situation may be a second chance at a happy home," said Kylie Rexroad, a kennel tech at the Harrison County Humane Society.
