5 News has received reports of a Facebook scam hitting the area. A woman from Jane Lew called and explained everything that happened and police confirmed if something sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

This woman apparently got a Facebook message from a close friend of hers telling her to send a money order from Walmart. Her friend said if you wire money worth $2,500 you could get over $80,000 back. The alleged guy in charge is Agent Wright Williams and the money wiring is called Facebook Grant. This woman said she trusted the message since she knew this woman for fifty years, but she called the police just in case.

Police say to never fall for anything where something or someone is asking you for money, especially if they say you could get some back. Just be cautious and if you have this happen to you don't hesitate to contact your local law enforcement.
