For the past month, rumors have been going around that middle school sports in Barbour County could be cut.
On Monday night, the superintendent is expected to make suggestions to the board about those cuts.
On the agenda is the recommendation that 53 extracurricular contracts be terminated at the end of the school year because of lack of funding.
This doesn't mean they'll be cut, it's just a suggestion from the superintendent.
Just in case, parents have formed the "Barbour All County Sports Organization".
They've been meeting over the past month to come up with solutions to the funding issues. They'll also be at the meeting, ready to present those ideas to the board.
"It's a situation where that's kind of a program killer. That ruins programs like this. It brings them down, it makes them not progress and help as much because you don't get depth in the coaching, you don't get time and mentorship growth in the coaching," said Edward Poling of the Barbour All County Sports Organization.
