Early Sunday morning, some folks in the Belington community came together for their Annual 4-Wheeling Event to raise money for local cancer patients.
For the past few years, the Belington Volunteer Fire Department, along with about 200 participants, rode their ATV's through Barbour, Upshur, and Randolph Counties traveling almost 50 miles. This year they didn't have a fee for riders, but they did ask for donations. Firefighters are hoping they can make as much as they did in past years, which was $3,000. After the ride and raffles, the total amount made will be split between two local families.
"Since the November storm we were unable to have a fundraiser, our Elimination Dinner, which cut down on some of our fundraisers at the fire department. So we decided to do this to give back to the department and to give back to the community," said Lt. Matt Ryan, Belington Volunteer Fire Department.
Firefighters said they're grateful for everyone who came out Sunday.
