A lot of people were out to celebrate St. patty's Day in downtown Morgantown and that made the turnout even better for the cook off.
About 150 people stopped in to taste chili from about 10 different vendors and vote for their favorite. There was a winner for people's choice and one for judges' choice.
Organizers wanted this to be all about the community.
Kevin Hanks said, "That's what I really wanted to do, was make this more of a social bonding event for people. Not just come in and taste the chili and leave, but I wanted them to have an experience. So, that's why we brought music and different venues. This year our success of being downtown and being closer to campus, is a lot easier and more accessible."
The United Way ended up raising over $1,000 dollars.
