A Marion County man is in jail after apparently trying to break into a home and then fighting with police.

Police responded to a report of a man, wearing brass knuckles, trying to break into a Mannington home early Thursday morning.

Later, police stopped a vehicle driven by Charles Deavers, 24, who matched the description of the suspect. Deavers allegedly fought with a deputy, and then apparently admitted to being the one trying to break into the home.

Deavers is in the North Central Regional Jail, facing a number of charges.
