Local health departments have been preparing for World Breastfeeding Week which began on Monday. Two events will be held in North-Central West Virginia between Wednesday and Thursday.
Babies who receive breast milk for the first six months of their life are less likely to come down with chronic diseases. That's just one example of a breast feeding statistic many people don't know about which is why local officials are hosting awareness events locally.
On Wednesday, an awareness walk will begin on High Street in Morgantown at 7:00 p.m. On Thursday, the third annual Stroll in the Park will start at 10:00 a.m. The stroll is being held at Nutterfort Park in Clarksburg.
