A storm drainage issue in Bridgeport got some locals heated at the city council meeting Monday night.

Damage from flooding is costing some Bridgeport residents thousands of dollars in damage. The city has contracted The Thrasher Group to do a storm drainage study in areas of the city that see the most risk of flooding. The study is in two phases: phase one is almost done, and phase two should be started within the next two weeks.

Some locals said that the council isn't moving fast enough on this problem, but the city engineer hopes to start construction and repairs on the city's drainage system by June or July of 2014.
