Hundreds of cancers survivors gathered in Monongalia County on Sunday to tell their stories and celebrate their lives.
The annual cancer survivors celebration was held at the Lakeview Resort in Morgantown. There were more than 300 people in attendance, 150 were cancer survivors and many of them spoke to the audience about their experience.
25-year-old, Tyler Tiano was one of them.
"I truly believe I'm here for a purpose and without this help and the help of my family and friends I wouldn't be here to continue that purpose. So never lose hop and always keep your head up because there's always tomorrow," said Tiano in part of his speech to the audience.
The event was sponsored by WVU Healthcare and the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center. It's intended to show appreciation for all the care these patients have received. There were three gift baskets given away as prizes by the staff towards the end of the lunch.
