CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Saturday's Veterans Day Parade in Charleston is winning some national attention.
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has selected the city among 62 regional sites it considers models for the rest of the country's celebrations of veterans. It's a first for the city.
Parade organizer Edward Converse of American Legion Post No. 20 says the recognition comes as the annual event marks its 70th anniversary in the capital city.
The Charleston Gazette says the parade will kick off 10:00 a.m. Saturday.
