Most kids already know about Christmas, but what about how it's celebrated in other countries? Harrison County Parks and Recreation held Christmas Around the World today to help kids learn how other cultures celebrate the holidays.
From England and France to Japan and the Pacific Islands, children in Harrison County "stamped their passports" and learned about the legends, history, myths, and facts through food tasting, art projects, music, and games.
"Wassail [a British beverage] was a tradition in Great Britain where they go caroling and that's what they treat the carolers with. We have rice cakes, Swedish meatballs, cookies from different countries, visits from Santa Claus, crafts from other countries, and games and dances that are different," Director of Harrison County Parks and Recreation Complex Mike Book told 5 News.
Christmas Around the World was free for the public.
